Pauline Fruchaud is a seasoned mission-driven investment executive with more than 20 years of experience in impact investing, development finance, and consulting project management, with a focus on financial inclusion, climate and agri-finance in emerging markets.
Prior to becoming an independent advisor, she spent four years in Senegal, working for IFC, unlocking investment opportunities in the financial, agriculture and housing sectors in West and Central Africa. Prior to joining IFC, she was the Head of Debt Investments at Obviam, the investment advisor of the Swiss DFI “SIFEM”, and the Head of Eastern Europe for BlueOrchard Finance, a leading impact investment manager. Pauline also worked for UN agencies (UNDP Cuba and UNICEF) and for a microfinance institution in Cambodia.
Pauline brings a wealth of experience in investing in Debt and Private Equity Funds, developing innovative financing solutions for fintechs, agri-tech companies and SME banks, structuring impact funds and leading consulting projects to foster financial inclusion and food security in frontier markets. During her career, she held various Non-Executive Director positions on the Boards and Advisory Committees of PE and Debt Funds in Africa and Latin America. She was a member of ICFA’s Selection Committee, at the beginning of ICFA’s journey, from 2018 to 2020.
She holds an MBA from York University, Toronto, Canada and MSc in Management from EM Lyon, France. She is multilingual in English, French and Spanish.
